IPOH ONE DAY TRIP

Hello Everybody!

As usual, I'm going to share about my trip when I was at Ipoh. It's still the same 5 people that went to Melaka the previous day.

WAZE & GOOGLE MAP  was our saviours during our trip at Ipoh.

Date : 19/01/2015 Monday

We left KL around 8.30am that morning and reached Ipoh around 10.45am. When we arrived, we realised that the car temperature is high after we found a parking. But we did not bother much. Just let it cool down and standby lots of water in case the temperature get high again when we're going back to KL later.

So our very first destination was :

MING COURT HONG KONG TIM SUM SDN. BHD.
32.34.36 Jln Leong Sin Nam, Ipoh.

The food was good but the service was kinda slow at first because no one came to serve us after we were seated for quite awhile. But it was ok after the first serving.

After having Dim Sum as our breakfast, we went to looked for the famous Tau Fu Far in Ipoh.

奇峰豆腐花 FUNNY MOUNTAIN
No. 49, Jalan Theatre, 30300 Ipoh

Sadly it was closed when we found it. I'm not sure if it actually close on Monday or their Tau Fu Far had sold out. Because written there opening hours is 10.30am until sold out. And we were there around 11.45am. Is it even possible to have sold out in an hour?

We still went for Tau Fu Far in another shop though. There were quite a few shop selling Tau Fu Far so we simply went in and eat. It was not bad actually. First time having Tau Fu Far with ginger flavour. But we did not take picture of the shop we went. Oops.

After fill our tummy with foods, we walked around the town to look for some souvenirs to bring back. We googled and saw this shop is quite famous.

We wanted to buy but the first batch will only be out at 2pm. It was 12.30pm that time and we cannot wait for it because we had another plan ahead. So we went to few other shops to look for something else. After we had bought everything we want, we went back to our car for next destination. And guess what we got? We got RM20 SUMMON! Expected. Because we don't know where to get parking coupon at Ipoh. So 1 of us went to pay for the summon at the nearby office. While he was queuing, 4 of us waited inside the car.

It was only within 10 minutes, the car temperature went high up again. It was MAX this time. While panicking on how, lucky that we found a parking right away in the middle of traffic jam. We quickly google to check if there is any workshop nearby. Guess what? We were lucky again. There's one nearby like 100m away only.

This time 2 of us stay in case someone came to summon again. Then another 3 walked to the workshop for some help. But we were asked to drive there after the car had cool down as they cannot do anything at that moment.

While waiting for the car to cool down, we went to

RESTORAN TAUGE AYAM LOU WONG
Add : Jalan Yau Tet Sin

Yes. We walked there. Because we found a good parking spot and it is just a few shops away. The food was super yummy! It makes me feel hungry now by seeing the pictures.

After having this delicious meal, it's time to go to the workshop. Then the boss came to checked the car, knock here knock there and it's done! No big deal. But I don't really know what's wrong when it comes to car. Then he asked his worker to test drive around the town. While the 5 of us waiting, he recommended a few places for us to go, proud to say that we already went the first few famous one. But not this :

It's actually a shop that sell indian food and just a few walks away from the workshop. My friends tried it and said it was good. I did not try because I was too full at that time after having Tauge and Chicken at the previous shop. This shop is very famous as told by the workshop boss so maybe you can give it a try when you come to Ipoh. :)

Done eating and the car is back! There's another MUST-TRY food at Ipoh and so we went!

HONG KEE MAH CHEE
550A, Jalan Queen, Pasir Pinji 31050 Ipoh.

These are yummy too! Highly recommend. Thumbs up for them!

It's time to go back to KL now. But before that, we dropped by at Batu Caves since we still have plenty of time and the car seems good at that moment.

I wanted to climb up that stairs but I wasn't allowed because I was wearing shorts. So girls, please take note if you wanna come here.

So after Batu Caves, we drove all the way back to KL. And when it's only 300m away from our hotel, the car temperature decided to went up again. What?! So we off the air-con and continue driving because there was no place to stop by. Luckily it went down back to normal after awhile. Finally, we reached our hotel safely.

WHAT AN UNLUCKY BUT LUCKY DAY!

Why I said so? Because it was so unlucky that the car spoiled our whole plan. But lucky that every problems was solved and we managed to make it back to KL safely from Ipoh.

But it's such a disappointment that we did not manage to go Gua Tempurung. :(

DAMN CAR!

Ok, time to go. I won't be updating my blog for months after this post as I will be busy with works. Guess I will only be back at July. Until next time.

BYE BYE!

MELAKA ONE DAY TRIP

Hey everyone!
Sorry for the late post. Been busy with works and too tired to blog whenever I got home. I dragged long enough for this post.

So, here we go....

Date : 18/01/2015 Sunday

We have a group of 5 people. Rented a car and drove all the way to Melaka from Kuala Lumpur.
Departed around 8.30am to fetch one of them from Puchong.

Oh ya, we used WAZE throughout our journey.

I think we arrived Melaka around 10.30am to look for our first destination Donald & Lily's but we got lost because we went to the old address which I found from the website. Guess it's kinda famous that Waze brought us to the new address afterwards.

Old : Off Jln Tun Tan Cheng Lock, 75200 Melaka(No longer exist)

New : No. 16, Ground Floor, Jalan KSB 1, Tmn Kota Shahbandar, Melaka.

 Nasi Kebuk

 Nyonya Laksa

 Mee Siam

 Rojak

Cendol

Those are the famous one which we find most of the table had.

Next, we went to walk around jonker street and visit some historical places. No pictures to show though. Weather was too hot during that time. Not much mood in taking photos.

I was actually looking for Klebang Original Coconut Shake. I saw a few stalls selling coconut shake but none written the word Klebang, so I just simply bought one and try. But the taste was disappointing. Not much taste of the coconut.

After jonker street, we headed to our next destination : Menara Taming Sari.

Add : Jalan Merdeka Bandar Hilir, 75000 Melaka, Malaysia
Price : RM10 (Mykad holder) - 7 minutes ride

We planned to go for the ride at first.

But then we saw this Melaka Duck Tours. It seems fun. It will drive from the land and enter the sea later then back to the land again.Ain't it amazing? So, we tried this instead of the Menara. Location is just the same as Menara Taming Sari.

RM 38 / person (Mykad holder)

See.. I told you it will enter the sea.

OK! I know I'm sakai!

The result was damn annoying though. We were there around 2.30pm that time. Lucky that we bought the last 5 ticket at 3pm. The next schedule is one hour later. So, we were seated at the last row which is right in front of the engine! It's so noisy that I wanted to get down after a few minutes. Too bad this tour takes approximately 45 minutes. Without the noisy engine, you will actually find this interesting as they will tell you more about Melaka.

After being torture by the noisy engine, we headed to our last destination at Melaka.

The famous Satay Celup!

Restoran Capital Satay
41, Lorong Bukit Cina, 75100, Melaka.

It was 4pm during that time, you got to be there as early as 4pm to avoid queue. Actually website stated that it is open at 5pm and we went there early to queue but again we were so lucky that it is already open at 4pm and not much people during that time. I'm not sure about the actual opening hour though.

Overall, the taste was so-so only. I don't find anything special about it though. But still worth a try if you never had satay celup before.

Went back to Kuala Lumpur after satay celup.

Bye bye!

INTRODUCTION

My name is Melissa.

I am NOT good in writing especially in English because it is so complicated with the Present & Past Tense. But I decided that in 2015, I will open a blog and share information with other travelers who need a little help perhaps? Because I myself will go through blogs and forums to gather all the information as well before I travel.

So, I hope I can help you maybe?

Thanks! I will get back to you soon.

MELAKA gonna be my second post.

P/S : Do correct me in my writing so that I will improve.
